Passed through Alliance, NE yesterday after a trip to Badlands National Park. Glad to see the theatre is still bustling, folks were exiting the Sunday afternoon screenings as I shot some pictures (new pics in the Photo section). Carhenge, located a few miles outside of Alliance, is worth a visit as well.
Stayed in Grand Prairie and saw the very cool Uptown at night – impressive marquee lighting! Unfortunately I had no camera, but drove by the next morning and got some pictures. New pics on the Photos page.
Yes, JRed, that was me (Kevin) along with Tim Rust. We spent a lot of time at Greenwood in the middle 1990s with UA’s Satellite Theatre Network – a forerunner of today’s National Cinemedia and Fathom Events (see the marquee shot advertising a Fathom opera event). First pictures of the theater posted in the Photo section.
The Cimarron Country Music Theater now occupies the former Camelot Theater. The lobby looked clean and ready for customers, although there was no venue information (web site, phone number) or posted schedule. New pictures posted in the Photo section. May 2, 2016.
Passing through Clinton, and noticed activity inside the Redland. Stopped and met the young couple who purchased the venue. Their goal is to restore the interior and reopen the theater. Stay tuned.
April 28, 2016: visited the Dodge Theatre. More than three years since the crowd-sourced fundraising effort began, the aged, historic venue continues to fall into disrepair. Recent pictures in the Photo section.
April 28, 2016: the interior has been stripped out, revealing the two oddly shaped auditoriums. Projectors and other equipment is stacked up in the former lobby. But progress looks slow – anyone have any info? New pictures in the Photo section. Amazing that Dodge City has two unique theaters in dire need of restoration.

The Skyline now operates as a first-run house in the digital age. Driving through Canon City today, they are playing X-Men: Apocalypse.
