There is no way another theater operator is going to come into this location. It’s a lost cause.
Most of the people who came to the theater were for the Tuesday night “freebies” If Clearview felt the theater was worth keeeping open, they would have negotiated a new lease. They knew it was not worth keeping it.
If they closed down the Clairidge, there would be place to see the indie films. The theater seems to do a very brisk business on Saturday and Sunday. Not sure about the rest of the week.
Once in a while some of the other theaters might show an indie film, but never when the film first comes out. Think it would be a real blow to many if they shut the place down.
Saw Avitar and the 3-D effects were certainly terrific. In the long run however, still not sure how 3-D will play out in pictures that are not spectaculars or action types.
I think all of you are taking this CT thing far too seriously. 99.9% 0f the world has never heard of this website. You guys are putting far too much importance on this website and what Warren did, and did not do.
By the way, it seems to me there has never been a posting from a female. Am I correct?
Most of the 3D films are especially made for kids. Do not think adults are actually enthralled by the process. How many films in 3D are made for the adult audience?
JJD
Saw Avitar and thought it was great (so was the 3d)
why are you people so concerned with what is or not playing in 3D in the AMC theater? Need to get a life!
The theater in Riverdale must be invisible. I live in the next town and have never seen it. Probably disguised as a nail place.

They should close down the Bellevue next. It is just a shell of it’s former self.
Just another example of a local movie house “biting the dust”
Amazing set of photos!!!

I do not think this theater was ever an AMC Loews.
There is an AMC within the Garden State Shopping center.
I believe you have mixed up the names of the places in the heading.
Great picture…but very sad to see.
Why would anyone care whether a movie theater was twinned or not over thirty years ago?
It is closed as a movie theater. Being open as a church is of no consequence for this web-site
What is the status of Fabian 8?
Passed the theater yesterday. Sad to see both the Broadway and the Rialto abandoned just waiting for the wrecker’s ball sometime in the future.
Passed this theater yesterday. Very depressing sight but seems to fit in with the town itself. A shell of what it once was.
Look’s like the beginning of the end here.
Eventually there will be no local theaters left. Certainly a shame.
Nothing sadder than a shuttered theater with a decaying marquee
Looks like everything is out of business in that area
What are the plans for this theater?
Nothing sadder than an abandoned movie theater marque

Sad how many theaters have disappeared over the years. On the other hand, if this were not the case, there would be no need for the CT website.
