If it was 1/3, I think a lot of theaters would have to be taken off the site. Especially now when as the buildings age, many of them have been used for retail, churches, etc, longer than they ever were used for movies.
Well even though movies may have been a very unimportant part of it’s history, it’s nice that because of it’s short run with movies, it’s able to be listed on the site. So many “treasures” of theaters can’t be because of course this is CINEMA treasures, but there’s no website to preserve the history of non cinema theaters out there….
Thanks for the link to the drive in. Some theaters on the site have the drive in version of a multiplex/theater that replaced it as the same page, and this one apparently has two listings.
Hahahaha Ken, I just read you March post today, and almost bust a gut with the “Vogue and it’s tree” comment!!
That ridiculously placed tree appears to have already been there, although trimmed in the old photos from the 1980’s. But even trimmed, what a RIDICULOUS place to plant a tree!

Any information on what is happening now on the site?
Thanks for the before and after photo.
Do they only use the lobby as the information area? If so, what is the rest of the theater used for?
How long did movies play in here?
Can you see any ornamentation in the store itself? The photo linked above is of the balcony view, but that’s only a warehouse I think.
Oh good, I like that idea better. It would have been sad to see it go to a strip club.
Great photo. Thanks.

Yes, that image is such a classic image.
I wonder why they tore the theater down, instead of just converting it to retail.

Is the theater still vacant?
The Vine appears to still be in decent condition.

Does Disney own this theater, or do they just rent it for their shows?
I remember in the early 90’s the theater looked pretty run down.
Wow the place looked really great in the 80’s with the movies on the marquee….

Do any interior features remain?
Is the theater preserved inside by this church, or was it redone?
What remains inside of this theater, if anything>?
