To Johncine. Yes the films are right for the Cinema. Yje screen was only 28ft scope… at the time Odeon New Street was the next largest in the City The Capitol Ward End was 48ft scope slightly bigger then New street
Hmm Kalee 12 Projectors with drum shutters Universal sound heads (When first put in would have had sound on disc as well) and I think Kaylee Commadore arcs..
@ Davepring.. I hate to say it NOT just Rank…. The March of the Multiplex…. Gone are the days when Cinemas where run by people with passion for what they do… They are now sweet shops that also show films…
The Theatre along with all the other Theatres in Leamington. was owned by. “The Stratford Picture House Co.Ltd., (Founded by Bosco ) I have a number of pictures in my files of The Regal before the 70mm was installed in the 60’s I will load them as soon as I find wher she had put them…..
Miles Jervis bought The Plaza as a job lot with the Alhambra Dudley Port. Plaza (renamed KINGS) West Bromwich There was another. I cannot rember the name.. AGE..

The Company that owned it from its building till it was sold for demolition was “Kings Norton Picturehouse Co., Ltd.,” Not Clifton….
It had a 36' Screen… Westrex Sound and Projection..
This Cinema was built and on the screen in around 8 weeks from the foundations being laid… No messing in those days..
