On 8/27/51, the Dixon Evening Telegraph announced that the Rialto had been sold to Kerasotes Theaters by the Great States Theater Group. The transfer would be effective as of September 1, 1951.
In December 1952, Galveston Theaters, Inc. sold the Queen for $55,000 to E. Philip Lyon, of Los Angeles. Mr. Lyon stated that the Queen would undergo extensive renovations once the sale was completed. This was reported in the December 16, 1952 edition of the Galveston Daily News.

In January 1960, the Moberley Monitor-Index announced that Elmer Bills and son had purchased the Dickinson Theater. The theater was to be closed and renovated, and would then open under a new name. The Bils also owned the 63 Drive-In in that area.
The Grand closed on February 9, 1960, according to the Moberley Monitor-Index. A.H. Pekarek, manager since May 1957, was transferred to the Jayhawk Theater in Topeka, KS.
