There is a Dollar General store at this address now. I wasn’t able to find any photos of the dollar store to determine if it was a conversion of the Martin Twin. Cinematour has the theater as closed, but they don’t update their information on a regular basis.
Here is the BSFS website, along with a picture of the building. Not a church anymore, unless you think sci-fi is a religion: http://www.bsfs.org/bsfsdrct.htm
My wife took this picture today when she was driving around on Sunset Boulevard. She probably should have rolled down the car window first, but I give her an A for effort. http://tinyurl.com/6hd27t
My old racquet club was across the parking lot from the sixplex. The club was torn down around the time the theater was expanded. I saw Hellboy II at the theater yesterday and took a couple of photos: http://tinyurl.com/57hwpk http://tinyurl.com/67vczw
Here is a 1952 photo. I think the placard says Holt Boulevard and Central Avenue.

This area seems to be doing OK. The Gameworks attracts a lot of young people, which I assume spills over to the theater.

The status should be changed to closed/demolished.

I agree. Excellent photo.
I agree. It’s high time we cleansed this page of all the colon jokes.
