Known as Glenway Cinemas or Glenway 5, this Famous Players multiplex was opened in May 1984 and closed on December 7, 2000. Shortly afterwards, Famous Players opened their Newmarket Silver City multiplex which is actually located in East Gwillimbury. The Glenway 5 had five screens - the largest one - auditorium 1 - had 70mm and Dolby Stereo Sound.

The theater building stood empty after it closed and now has been purchased and run as Crosslands Church. Four of the five auditoriums are still intact, 1 and 5 with seats are used for church services.

The cinema closed on the night of December 7, 2000. Its final movies include Unbreakable, 102 Dalmatians, Rugrats in Paris, Red Planet, and The Legend of Bagger Vance. All these movies moved over to SilverCity Newmarket the next day.
