There is a Black Horse Pike in South Jersey that runs from the shore to Philadelphia. There is also a White Horse Pike (Route 30) that does the same. I think these date back to the nineteenth century. In Pleasantville there is the Old Black Horse Pike, which used to be a carriage road to Atlantic City. You can still follow it for a while.
The map view puts you behind the theater, but you can follow the streets around to the front for a more contemporary view. There is also the photo posted on 10/15/08.
That’s because air popped corn tastes like cardboard. People want salty popcorn with butter on it when they go to the movies, healthy or not. That’s why steakhouses never go out of business.
I noticed the film lineup on the marquee when I was driving by today-Crazy Heart, An Education, A Prophet and a few others. Not exactly mainstream. I wonder if they are trying to position themselves as an art house.
The article states that the theater was formerly known as the Lyric and the Joy. In 1947 the Lyric was part of the Mark Rubinsky theater chain, based in Harrisburg.

I did that once in Philly-a rainy Tuesday afternoon. I was the only one in the theater for the show.
Function should be retail.

Did it originally have 14 screens? I wondered about that when I posted the 2/20 ad from 1983.
Bioscope sounds like something they do with a camera when you are having internal problems.

The theater site says that it has three screens.
Nice photos. I couldn’t sit through Cats again, though. I saw it in New York in 1982, I think.
The map view shows it as a church, but that was a few years ago.
