Paul – I remember all of the theaters that you list. One small correction: the Kings Fair was located near the Trenton/Hamilton Twp border on the old Trenton Fairgrounds property.

Regarding the Alan, it is still listed as open in the 1956 FDY with 600 seats.

If you want to stick to mid town try the Ziegfeld. For photos only, Radio City is an obvious choice. Just about everything in Manhattan is close to public transit as long as you can navigate the subways.
