I have my doubts as to whether the building is still there. There’s not much left on that part of Temple Street, west of downtow. I will swing by and take a look the next time I’m down there.
We don’t have much of a problem with listings here in LA. It’s Oscar season from October to February, more or less, so the studios and agencies usually pay for large ads, which incidentally tell the Academy members where the films are showing.
I think if you were around the theater everyday like I am, you would appreciate the photo more. The gym is very drab. I liked the color, which certainly is not part of the building now.
LM, I followed your instructions and lifted this photo from the ad. The theater is partially visible on the left, next to the bank. I think the status should be changed to unknown: http://tinyurl.com/2gk9ze
My wife lived in Glenmora in 1980 as an exchange student from Brazil. She recalls seeing a movie at the Pringle. She had never seen popcorn sold inside a theater as that was not common in Brazil at that time.

That’s the last of them. Check the images of america section at Barnes & Noble and look for LA theaters.

There is a single screen theater in Lawrenceburg IN called the Walnut that is listed on CT. It still shows first run films.
