Bob, I remember the Planet of the Apes marquee. That must have been the last film that was shown. I think the space is still a vacant lot, but last time I was in town the Rialto bar was still next door.
I will be in Van Nuys next week. I’ve been meaning to stop by the Reseda and check out the progress, if any. Here is a B&W photo: http://tinyurl.com/3xk6g8
I didn’t see that many old theaters on the road. I recall the West and Lux close to each other in New Mexico, and a couple in Oklahoma. I think many of the old places are either demolished or now unrecognizable.

That’s true. I wasn’t sure if that comment had been posted when you added the theater.
A comment on the above site from November 2004 states that the building has been demolished.
It was just advertised as American Theater.
We don’t know. Melders believes the Hayton may have been in the HVAC building, but no confirmation on that.
Charlie’s Air Conditioning and Heating is at 130 S. Division Street.
Okay, good enough.
The Ritz was on Eighth. I don’t know the address for the Rio.
No showings listed on the theater webpage:

I tried that. After a few minutes, it switches to another page with no photos. This is the only way to do it.
