College Plaza Shopping Center in June 1972.
It appears the plaza sign doubled as a marquee.
The cinema is on the far right, which matches an aerial photo.
Address was 272 Main Street, Hill City, SD 57745 and it was Demolished.
Bargain Barn is on the site today.
The former hotel building to it’s left in the photo is still standing.
I ran across a Facebrook group called Red Arrow Lines dedicated to the street car system in Upper Darby.
Multiple comments by locals refer to the Park Theatre building as still standing at 8000 West Chester Pike on the corner.
If you do a Google Street View search you can see the building has an abnormally long back section that appears to have been the auditorium.
The peak to the right of the marquee in the Overview photo matches up with the current street view as well.
The white house in the background of the same photo is two doors down from the Park Theatre, and is also still standing.
The day care center is in between the two, and sits further forward on it’s lot than the other two.
The former Park Theatre had apparently been a public storage facility at one time after it’s closure.
It has a Masons symbol corner stone dated 1922 on the facade.
So it may have originally been a Masons Lodge.
Cash In My Bag an online consignment company is the current tenant.
I have reached out to them on their own Facebook page to confirm whether their building is the former Park Theatre or not.
