Part of the Burbank is on the left in this USC photo, according to the information given by the archives. I think the date is wrong, probably 1920s as opposed to 1880s: http://tinyurl.com/37jecf
I’m not sure if you’re being facetious about your wife, but regardless this isn’t really the place for those kind of comments. Plenty of other websites for that.
This ad is dated January 1980, which conflicts with the 1972 closing date. I don’t think the Pan Pacific auditorium was showing films: http://tinyurl.com/2v27tv
I think the name was changed to Newsreel after WW2. Here is a 1940 photo that shows Tower on the marquee:

I had seen this LAPL photo before, but today I noticed the Broadway in the background. The photo is dated 1967:

I didn’t know there was a theater on the Queen Mary.

I think that location is where the Chevron and McDonalds is now. It’s where you make a left from Figueroa onto MLK to get over to the 110 South.

Did the Jade building replace the Wonderland building, or was it just a change of names? Any info on this?
The LA Times reported exploding film and panic at a theater at 649 South Main on 4/26/21. Maybe the Republic, maybe not. The addresses are dissimilar.
Here are three more photos from the LAPL:

The function should be retail.
I had the same experience when I was at the Alameda theater in East LA. “This was never a theater”, the owner told me. Sure dude, whatever.
You win the prize.
