The Beach was in the middle of the block, on the east side of the street between South Carolina and New York Avenues. I went to my first adult film there in the late 70s. I was fifteen or so and tried to look older to get past the usher, who couldn’t have cared less. The admission was $5, which was a lot for those days.
“I am Curious Yellow” was playing at one of the Atlantic Avenue theaters when I was in elementary school. There was quite a fuss at the time for such a harmless softcore movie.
Seeing as there are no other theaters listed for Tonopah, I imagine that this 1940 photo shows the Butler. The caption puts the location on Main Street. It’s admittedly not a great picture: http://tinyurl.com/m3ylc
