seats. Closed in circa 1999 when the shopping centre expanded and upgraded with a new cinema complex opened 200 metres away, reopening on 23/9/1999 and renamed Greater Union Piazza Cinemas(2042 seats), with 10 screens. Renamed Greater Union Castle Hill(date unknown?) Renamed Event Cinemas Castle Hill in 2009. 16 screens in 2018(number of seats unknown?).
Opened on 21/7/1951 with 2 cartoons, “Puny express(Woody Woodpecker), and Cat and the mermouse(Tom and Jerry), and "American guerrilla in the Philippines”.
Opened on the north screen with “Circus world” and “Who’s minding the store” and on the south screen with “Beach blanklet bingo” and “Pajama party”. Stars, Frankie Avalon, Deborah Waley, and Big John Hamilton were there for an autograph party on the opening night.
