My San Francisco geography is a little shaky. The Amazon was on Geneva Avenue, but this picture of what appears to be the Amazon was located on Mission Street at Ocean Avenue, according to the SFPL:
Take a look at these two photos. The Crystal Palace Market across the street from the Orpheum appears to be an old theater. The question is, which one?
This photo shows the Embassy on the right and the Fox on the left. If you have good eyes, you may be able to spot the Paramount, the Orpheum and the United Artists theaters as well:
The glory days in Westwood ended in 1988, when a young woman was shot and killed in the Village. I used to go to Westwood on weekend nights in the mid 80s, and the Village was packed. Now it is dead. The opening of the Santa Monica promenade took away a lot of business as well.
