the guy who dropps my film prints to my theater said the same about atco closing, that would be a major blow. its the only mainstream cinema i frequent cause its quiet clean and the staff is very curdious as a theater manager myself i respect that more then anything
i saw many films back in the drive in days at atco from the late 80’s into the multiplex days starting with the addams family in 91
right now its all internet gossip but alot of memories there
i just love the idea people out there still care enough for these buildings and are willing to stand up to the regals and amcs and keep the little guy rolling
the ventnor twin down the south jersey shore, and the westmont in haddon twp nj are both sitting begging for some one to return them to there former glory…..and i just so happen to be a 6 year theater manager, projectionist who would love to chip in
as i sit in the projection booth knowing the broadway in pitman is doing away with movies next year is there any word on who to contact about getting into the film presentation
i was just down there tuesday looking at some theater options, i run the broadway in pitman but the movies are slowly fading away despite my efforts to the live theater
theaterbuff1 thats good advice, and i have tried to program films in the small time slots made available to me that work with the pitman way of thinking, family and senior friendly films. ( I.E. maid of honor this week)
but no matter how safe i play my films. we cant get a solid draw, and im feeling the pinch of being the weak link to the theater and the constant 5 or 6 people comments i get have caused me sleepless nights, seems im a bit of a joke to my old chain theater co-horts
i just need the help of the people who love the theater and love films, to spread the word and keep films rolling at the broadway
has anything new gone on with this theater being picked up, while i was running the stone harbor theater last summer i took a drive to see this joint, and i wish i had the cash to turn this into a revival house down the shore, a hot spot for cinema classics and blockbusters and family films
sadly i am only allowed so much time in which to book and show films becuse over and over im told by those who run the plays that no one cares about the movies
the more you come out to the movies the more i can do
went to the exhumed films shows there
worked as a projectionist at the 16 in 2003 i still vist the theater from time to time, has a good selection of films and all the big midnight shows
drove past today and its closed so guess it wasnt gossip

the LEVOY in willville nj is having a hard time getting funding toghter localy to reopen
