Pretty easy to spot the old drive in, and the entrance was nowhere near the 4421 address. Even the old ads place it at 4347 (something like that, it’s hard to read such fine blurry print…) But 4347 maps directly to the old entrance.
Old entrance almost runs into Hollyhock Terrace once it gets to Glenwood Rd.
That weird shaped slab in the middle of the field was where the projection booth was. Lampasas is only 45 minutes from where I live, I’ll go and investigate sometime soon.
I’m thinking the 116 W 7th St address refers to the building right next door. Dumas Printing is at 117, and small building is directly across the street.
Map and description of Linwood Rd. points to an area where no drive could have existed. Out further East of town looks to be the site, and the pictures link seems to support it.
One more time here….

3630 E. Andrew Johnson Hwy is the closest spot.
Right where the T shaped driveway is now, used to be the place you’re talking about.

However, the name of the town needs to be changed to Morristown. Does anyone check maps before submitting theaters?
Still barely, barely visible, but there was an old drive-in ½ mile West of the airport in I-20.

If you map to 447 Augusta Rd, you can see the remains of the drive-in. GE imagery shows more recent development on the South half of the lot.
Got any working picture links???
I meant the name of the town is Fairhope, not Fair Hope as was originally posted. Geeeez……
Please change name to Fairhope.

The screen was at the corner of Civic Center Blvd and Clemson. Rows fanned out from NW to SW. Barely visible in older GE.
At the SW corner of Hwy 190 and 183 looked to have a drive-in. Much easier to see in historical shots on GE.

Correct spelling of the town is Elloree. Correct ZIP Code is 29047. The State is right however…..
1961 Google Earth shows a total of at least 9 drive-ins, a couple are twins. Lots of Drive-Ins for that town.
At 4038 South Port (where the Home Depot is now) used to be a even bigger drive-in. Barely visible in the early 80’s.
On Horn Rd East of 60 was a drive-in during the 50’s. 1965 imagery shows it gone however.
Also, a twin drive-in on 35 and McCrosky Rd. out East of town. Image lasted much longer, up to mid 90’s. Also shows up during the 50’s.
At old 77 and E. Ailsie looks like the remains of a drive-in outline. Barely, barely visible.

Building used as an office less than a year ago, and already it looks this bad? Yikes!
This will get you there….
