I went there today for the first time. I think I was in screen two. The air conditioning was not hardly on and it was somewhat warm in the theatre. And there was a musty smell.
What is the name of the movie theatre in Downtown Brooklyn, off of Fulton, that is now a Berkley College and Planet Fitness? I thought it was the Duffield
To Matt Lambros How were you ale to gain access to the theatre? I once went to the Adams and asked if I could check it out but I was told ‘no’. I assume it’s due to insurance reasons.
This gem reminds me of the former Valencia on Jamaica Avenue. I passed by one day during the week and there was a church service going on but the auditorium was nearly empty. They might consider leasing the theatre for some days for added revenue.
Who owns the property?
Wow!!!! I never thought I would see a picture of the theatre while in operation. Thanks. Where did this picture turn up?
Where was the Graham Palace?
I assume there is nothing left of the interior
when did the start showing porn?
The interior of what is now Shopper’s World looks like it was a movie theatre.
Thanks for adding this picture.

Would the congregation object to anyone taking pictures of the interior?
I haven’t seen it but I hear there is a FOR SALE sign up on the building.
I would love walk around inside.
In its last years this place was a shit hole. The bathrooms were trashed.
Did anyone go to the theatre when it showed porn?
Perhaps its time to let the Keith go.
Why did they close the theatre? Was the auditorium turned into retail space?
Update: The clothing store, Rainbow, is closing this location. I wonder if they will tear these building down? I will try and post a picture.
Is there anything left of the interior now that it’s a f***** supermarket?

Wow, I was thinking last night that I wanted to pass by and see a movie before….well, too late.

I wonder where the original box office was
I have heard rumors that the block where the theatre is has been sold and will be demolished. Has anyone heard anything like this?

Why is it that some people don’t want pictures taking? Don’t they realize it’s important to preserve the history
Matt how did you manage to get permission to photograph the theatre>
