Here is a rare colour promotional photograph from the Hathern Station Brick & Terra Cotta Company Ltd. It is used by kind permission of Clive Greathurst.
It is the same as the b&w photograph that I posted above on April 30, 2006. I believe the colours are pretty well true to life, as the still existing exterior of the Carlton (ABC) Islington is similar. Both buildings share the same architect and same Hathernware terra cotta tiles manufacturer.

On the night of 27th November 2008, the urban explorer group ‘28 Days Later’ managed the get inside the devastated Hippodrome Theatre to record the current status of the building. Here are their amazing photographs: View link
Listed in editions of Film Daily Yearbook 1941 thru 1950 as the Roscoe Theatre, 2046 Roscoe Street, with a seating capacity between 650 and 690.
Conrad Schiecke’s book ‘Historic Movie Theatres in Illinois 1883-1960’ states: ‘It opened as the Seeley Theatre, 2046 Roscoe Boulevard in 1914. In 1929 it closed and was re-opened in 1938 as the Roscoe Theatre with 650 seats. The Roscoe Theatre closed in 1953, and currently the building houses a meeting hall’.
