From BOXOFFICE 1985, The Tivoli theatre has closed down until there is legal determination as to whether the owner will be put in jail for allowing Minors to see the R-rated film “THE TEACHERS”.
Bit of News from BOXOFFICE 1985, The Clermont-Deluxe and the SOUTHVIEW DRIVE-IN will adding screens according to CONSOLIDATED THEATRES taking over ownership. THE SOUTHVIEW DRIVE-in THEATRE will become a triple screen Drive-in !Guess it didn’t happen.

this might have been posted,Could have missed it ,but “THE BOSTONIANS” with Christopher Reeve had the premiere here.It broke all house records at the time over the weekend.
“STAR WARS” still playing October 20 1977,Two evening shows and still after this long of a run “NO PASSES”.wonder how many Augustan’s got in Free,Quite a few if I know the theatre business.LOL.
Hate to hear that; my cousin did all the maintance work there repairing everything from projectors to the ice machine.he also ran the Four Seasons Cinemas in Hendersonville on CT.
Dean Martin in “WHO’S GOT THE ACTION” and “FIVE BRANDED WOMEN” playing Sunday night April 7 1963.Admission was 35 cents,one of the cheaper Drive-ins in Tampa.
Sorta surprized to see a 10 week run on “ICE STATION ZEBRA”,while I liked the movie, i always assumed it was one of those one week runs and it gone films.Of course it is Chicago,and was probably only playing at the Cinestage.
Beat City,Great story,You had it made,reminds me of a story of a friend who’s dad was a projectioinst in Tampa,During the summer my friend,Michael, would watch double features everynight on the roof of the one of the many Drive-ins in Tampa,hope your grades didn’t suffer,you lucky kid.Lol.
