April 5th, 1947 opened as Figaro with an English double bill. It was very popular on Sundays since the Ontario-side theatres were closed due to blue laws.
March 28, 1948 taken over by France-Film and renamed Cinéma de Paris and shown French movies.
Reopened July 11, 1968 as Mall and closed October 2nd, 1973 The Mall was owned by Odeon and shown exploitation and adult movies. It closed when it could not compete with the adult cinemas across the river in Hull’s “porno alley” cinemas as Venus, Cartier, L'Amour and the Pussycat.
