The only lines i can recall that are the longest are those for the xmas spectacular, the easter show, and celebrity jeopardy. Even sold out concerts by big name artists can have long lines as well as the annual nfl draft.
not only that but the auditorium numbers and concession aisle borrow traits from loews cineplex. The IMAX sign would be attached to the front of the theater years after the imax screen opened.
Which i enjoyed last afternoon. I doubt this movie will win oscar for best picture, but will win technical awards for its use of 3D effects and sound mixing not to mention the cinematography and score. I’m glad that AMC decided to keep this movie for another week or two since Captain Philips is playing at Clifton Commons in imax.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0lbGEI3pM8…this scene was pretty good. They filmed it near the chinese or a mock up of it…i hope star wars episode vii has the world premiere here…
The front of the theater has the AMC logo on the marquee, while the movie marquee sign near route 10 says AMC in red and theaters in gold. I wonder if they’ll renovate the seats…this theater is in bad shape, kinda like AMC in Wayne.
For film 3d, especially older movies, you might see some film static. That was the case with L5, which i’ve seen a few times at the lincoln square theater. Any word on when digital imax will be installed at this theater?
Has anyone seen Gravity in 3D, 2d, or imax 3d? Seems that there are more 3d showtimes and imax 3d than 2d…since most critics say 3d is the way to go. The box office for this movie is doing gangbusters.
same for bowtie cinemas. I live near an AMC theater. Since their opening in 2006, they used NCM satelitte to beam down live events and the preshow. The projection was a grid like screen (which the imax still uses) before 4k projection was installed, making the image gridless and more sharper.

Now that’s a great review Chris….
I agree. Maybe they’ll make one in new jersey. If amc’s lease in rockaway expires, then alamo drafthouse will come in lol…
imax makes it happen…that' my favorite part about amc in rockaway…the imax is great for both scope and widescreen movies…
Into small screen territory of course…
how is gravity in atmos 3d?

How is the picture quality of the laser imax compared to rockaway imax?

Was the picture still larger than the digital fake imax theaters?
catching fire was shot in imax, the hobbit not.
remember no spoilers on ct…i usually sit near the rails above the non stadium seats so i can stretch my legs for a bit. And for the immersive effect.
Name should be changed to Starplex Luxury Cinemas at Ridgefield Park 12….one screen uses 11.1 Auro 3D surround sound, and that’s for Gravity.
Same here. How was the picture and sound compared to other imax 3d movies? Tron Legacy was pretty good and so was Star Trek 3D.

Was Hubble 3d the first Imax 3D film that played at this theater?

theater will reopen in a few weeks with renovations continuing until 2014.
Theater now open as of this weekend….
How is the imax dlp in this theater compared to rockaway?
What movie has stayed the longest at this theater? I say titanic.
Dbox will be installed for gravity on friday.
