The Bayers Lake’s IMAX as of late 2011 is no longer Atlantic Canada’s only IMAX screen. One opened in St. Johns NF at the Avalon Mall. In 2010 Cinema one was removed to enlarge the refreshment area and all other cinemas were renumbered.
This opened as Capitol on November 11th, 1924 and reopened as Telenews on September 19th, 1941. Sterling owned it during the Telenews years. Both grand opening ads posted here.
