Before they closed it,My cousin drove down with a VAN FULL OF ONE-SHEETS.They are all in my Basement and Attic.Only a few I wanted,But I saved them from the Dump.
Finally went a few weeks ago to see “TRUE GRIT” first time ever in this monster,They were running movies to empty houses with THE LAMP ON.I couldn’t believe doing something SO STUPID, we never did that, start the film, run it But with the Lamp off.Man, I am glad I am out of the THeatre Business.I hate Stupid Theatre Managers.
That is so strange. But I believe you when it comes to small towns! Looking at the ads one day it is the Ellen theatre next day one sees Cinema One.Guess they had no advertising Budget.thanks.Iam glad i did not submit a New Theatre.LOL.
It also seemed like Wednesdays was the day the Theatre stayed closed. From what i could tell following old newspaper ads.Never could get a street address.
They should have saved the Theatre it being the Birthplace of Will Rogers.Could have done wonders with Tie-ins on his life and Films.but I guess an Interiors store was needed.I hate Stories like this.Where are the Locals. The little town of Harlem,Ga, Saved the Columbia Theatre and use it for Oliver Hardy tie ins.Hardy was Born in Harlem.Shortsighted people,
