Yes, your right “in Today’s motion picture world we would never Survive”.Seems like we did okay when I was working in one. For one thing in those days going to movies was still an event,it was fading somwwhat.but today it is like walking into a Bus Stop in Anytown,U.S.A.
1967 “BONNIE and CLYDE” wonder if it was first run or hit the drive-in first.I heard in some parts it was booked right into Drive-ins then Caught Fire and it in the indoor Theatres, this from an old Prpjectionist that said it happened to him.
Back in those days in the seventies,we never asked anyone to leave.95% did,but if you wanted to watch it again at ABC and Plitt we never said a word,When I moved to GCC the intermission Breaks were usually longer than ABC/Plitt that just about everyone left. But even then I can’t recall asking a moviegoer to Move on.I really don’t know what they would do today if you decided to watch it again. Any Answers?
Thanks Mike,In the Fall we could always count on “the Sound Of Music” being booked in the early to mid 70’s. At National Hills in Augusta,The old ladies drove this 17 year old doorman crazy.
I am sorta new to this,by research to you mean Archiving old newspaper ads for addressess.I would think that would be the only way and even then a lot of small town papers never had an address assuming the Locals knew the location.thanks.
Thanks eric.

The newer marquee Chuck put on looks a lot better than what they were trying to do in the Eighties.
Yes, schmadrian you are correct. I think one-sheets are lousier today, also.Smaller Too,Some newer ones I have won’t fit in my one-sheet frames.
I agree AlAlvarez.your statement pretty much sums it up.“MEDIUM COOL” is remember was an X-rated flick, that might have limited its BO.
