The featured photo is a little misleading. That’s really an artist’s illustration. The current facade looks like this: commented about Marquee Performing Arts Center on Dec 27, 2013 at 11:08 am

It is now being converted into performing arts center. commented about Chief Theatre on Nov 6, 2013 at 2:22 pm

The category should be “demolished” not closed. The theatre was destroyed in the 1993 fire and there’s a parking lot there now. The neon Chief sign was saved and has been restored. It will soon be displayed on the former site of the theatre. See this article commented about Sunset Drive-In on Oct 19, 2013 at 7:45 am

The same building design (operated by Baehr Theatres) as the Park Theatre in Park Rapids, MN — so probably built the same year or thereabouts (1939). commented about Lake Theatre on Apr 4, 2012 at 7:54 pm

The theatre’s website touts “since 1919”. There is a vintage photo there that might date from 1937.

However, the exterior and sign now, if it’s even the same building, look more 1950s. commented about Bemidji Theatre on Mar 29, 2012 at 7:56 pm
