The Osteen re-opened briefly in June of 1995 with “Judge Dreadfull”, or was that “Judge Dredd”? At first only the original auditorium opened, but later the Osteen 2 also opened. The Osteen was not a true twin. There were two seperate theatres with seperate entrances and box offices. The Osteen two opened in the mid 1970’s. But due to low attendance and high costs the Osteen closed its doors for good in November of 1995.
No the theatre that was originally at the Harding mall was the Capri. The Capri was torn down to make way for the Carmike 6 at Harding Mall. Cinema North was located on Two Mile Parkway.
I used to manage the theatre in the early 90’s. The carpet was harvest gold, to match the seats. The seats were Massey Rockers, which were very comfortable. It was a discount theatre while I was there, and had been for years. Unfortunately the building was torn down to make way for a grocery store the last that I heard.
