This photo must’ve been taken no earlier than November 2016 (when Moana came out) but the Forest Fair location closed in 2015. Don’t know why it’s here
Love how the CINEMA sign on the front of the pre-renovation theater is in the same font as the ones General Cinema used to have up on their buildings, and then they just slapped on a “6” in a different font without even bothering to have it be the same. It looks so weird…
It really sucks – many more people will lose jobs all because of this horrible virus. Even the bigger chains like AMC and Regal will likely have to close many of their locations. I hope they don’t go under – but this location likely will.
Not to be pessimistic but I doubt that this location will reopen. The aftermath of this pandemic will likely result in many small theaters like this one going under.
I remember seeing The Amazing Spiderman and Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3 here in 2012, the year they opened and the Dumbo remake here in 2019. The food is great and the seats are comfortable.
It’s very surprising to see Yumi from Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi, and Brandy from Brandy and Mr. Whiskers there. Strange
Closed sometime in late 2000
Last listing I can find of this theater is on October 17, 2000.
Closed sometime in October 2000, last listings I can find are around October 10th-15th or so.
This cinema did not close in 2001. It was shut down sometime in 1998.

Please update, this movie theater is now closed. Don’t know when but it seemed to be open as late as 2020.
This hasn’t been updated in 20 years, what happened to it? Did they ever open it?

I’m scared for the future of movie theaters…
Closed on July 20, 2001.
What a bad time to plan to renovate a theater…

I believe this is one of only 14 theaters in the country to still be open among the coronavirus outbreak, which mostly consists of drive ins.
I did some research and found listings for Marietta Star Cinema as late as 2004.
Closed in 2000 but reopened in 2001, and closed again in 2005
