I remember seeing an advertisement for the Chief Drive-In inside the Twin Cinema on the west side of Cleveland (also owned by the Collier family and now demolished). The first movie shown at the Chief was “Wings of the Morning” starring Henry Fonda and Annabella.
The Showtown was at the northeast corner of Highway 82 East and Beauchamp Street. The Kroger store, which closed a few months ago, was further west on the south side of Highway 82.
I remember going to the Ellis in the 1970s to watch Saturday matinees. It closed in the early 1980s.
