The Eastgate I & II was owned by Dubinsky Bros during the 80s and was a second-run theatre. Eastgate III was a separate theatre (located in the same strip mall) which showed adult movies.
Nova 10 opened in March 1986 as the Century 6, owned by Dubinsky Bros. Dubinsky owned most of the theatres in Des Moines at the time, including the Century 6, Capri, Eastgate I & II, Southridge 3, Valley 3, Fleur 4, Forum 4, and the River Hills/Riviera (with Fridley Theatres). Later, they would open the Westwood 6 and eventually the whole chain was sold to Excellence, which was later sold to Carmike.
Yes, it was operated by Dubinsky in the 80s until they sold out to Excellence ca 1988, and then Carmike (after they bought Excellence).

Westwood 6 opened in 1986 or 1987 and I believe was the last theatre Dubinsky Bros opened in the Des Moines area before selling out to Excellence.
