Victory Theatre
On 2nd July 1914 Herbert Robert Neate (a leading citizen who would become the first mayor of Blackheath) purchased the theater site from Francis Bertie Boyce (of nearby Mt. Boyce fame). Two shops occupying the location were demolished, and an 866 seat cinema was built to the design of Sydney architects Hassel and Stockham. Building tenders were invited by 20th October 1914 and M. J. Campbell of Manly was chosen to do the construction.
