•
Moxley & Moxley Theaters started the Starvue Drive-In launching with “Fury at Furnace Creek” on October 4, 1949. The Moxleys would sell out to the McCuthchens who had owned the Gem and still had the Roxy and Ritz Theaters in Blytheville.

 •
Two different ads for the Jefferson Drive-In. The one on the left is for the June 17, 1950 opening of the Jefferson for operator Harold Gibbons. “Captain China” was its opening feature. The ad at right is for the May 12, 1953 3D film, “Bwana Devil” making its first drive-in run in Dallas. The Jefferson made it all the way to 1990 before closing.

 •
What was the correct spelling of this drive-in’s name? Only its marquee knew for sure. Here’s part of a page from the June 15, 1962 issue of the Colorado Springs Gazette-Telegraph. On the left, in a special two-column ad, is Sky Vue, complete with clouds in the background. On the right, in the tall one-column Westland Theatres ad, it’s the Sky View.
