Rialto theater 121-123 S. Third St.
Rialto Theatre, opened Christmas Day in 1921 at the site of the former Garrick Theatre, 121-123 North Third Street. The first sound motion picture shown in Burlington was at the Rialto on September 23, 1928. The sound was he vitaphone and the movie starred Al Jolson in “The Jazz Singer”. The Rialto burned on October 26, 1930. The New Rialto opened less than amonth later, om November 8, 1930, at 411-417 North Third Street in the Grand Opera House Building. The second Rialto closed on May 21, 1934.
