The address of this theater is 17145 Tomball Parkway
Houston, TX 77064. When I just looked it up, it said “place closed” for some odd reason. Maybe someone mixed it up with the one it replaced.
This theater is across from the mall. It replaced both an AMC at the mall and one in another plaza across the street. The one at the mall I think was demolished since then, but I moved away in 1991.
Most AMCs I know of opened in the 80’s, but the original mall opened in 1974. Down the road is AMC Marple 10, in a plaza with Linens ‘n Things (founded 1990), Circuit City (founded 1988), and OfficeMax (founded 1988). Woodhaven Mall in Bensalem opened in 1973, and still has the original AMC theater. There was a very old AMC in Delran NJ, now long gone.
Does anyone know when this center originally opened? Because it had a Hechinger for a while, that closed in 1999. 1989 maybe?
This theater opened in 1996.
This theater I believe opened in 1992.
I heard Brandywine Town Center opened in spring 1999, but other sources say 1991 (which makes most sense to me).
This theater I think was built as an Acme market. It relocated two miles away in 1990.

This AMC opened in 1989 along with EXPO Design Center, Linens ‘N Things, and Mikasa (all closed now).
When exactly did this become an AMC?
