Taken on the 4th June 2005. This is taken from the circle balcony. This open day was the last opportunity the public had to see inside the building. It had already had the 1958 interior removed at this point. The various objects are parts of scenery from Leeds Grand Theatre that were brought out for the public to see. This is prior to the “Transformation” project, which saw the Leeds Grand Theatre renovated and the Howard Assembly Rooms “restored” to it’s appearance in the 1880s, which meant that the ceiling, alcoves, decorative walls, stage and decorative curved circle were removed.
