Don,
Was the North Massapequa theater on the East side of Hicksville Rd by Rumbottoms just south of SS Parkway? Can’t remember for sure where it was. I remember the Pequa and Bar Harbour theater’s well but not the NM theater. Was there ever a theater in downtown Amity just south of Brunswick hospital? I seem to remember a theater in that area. You seem to have some good knowlege of the area. Got there in 58' left in 89',…miss it terribly! Soon to return!

When did the Bar Harbour theater come on line? I remember riding our bikes to either the Pequa or Bar Harbour every Saturday for such classic matinees as,…“The Creature from the Black Lagoon,….‘Godzilla’, all the horror classics. Agreed though,..nothing compared to The Pequa! The glass,..spiral staircase, rockers,Classic! Too bad "Walmart Cinemination” killed it and the DriveIns! I’ve since moved to Florida and the only Drive In is 50 miles away,…really miss those DriveIns! Be back in 5 years again, for good!

Was Alfred G Berner HS up before the DriveIn was gone? Does anybody remember what was across the street from Whites and the DriveIn, where the Sunrise Mall is located now on the north side of Sunrise Hwy? I remember it under construction when I was about 10 years old, but can’t remmeber what was there before the mall. I can remember riding bicycles under the BarHarbour strip mall across from Masapequa High school in the 60’s riding through the underground truck tunnel, you guys are really “digging in the dirt” as Peter Gabriel would say ,…it’s great remembering, “Thanks for the memories!”
