The Vogue Theatre was torn down on Friday April 4, 2008 despite a recent poll stating that 68% of participants wanted to see this beautiful art deco theatre restored. The lot where the Vogue once stood will soon become an office complex.
After many visits to the Vogue with contractors, myself and a small group of people decided to try and do something to save this beautiful theatre. We have created a website with more information for those that are interested. I you want to help please go to www.savethevogue.ca
I agree, this is a beautiful theatre and it should be restored, I toured the interior of the building today, its needs allot of cosmetic work however it is structurally sound. Last I heard (August 22, 2007)it was to be demolished so if there is anyone out there that has about $300,000 they would like to donate I would love to see this building saved. The current asking price is $125K however the building needs a new roof at about $100K and the interior needs about $75 to $100K to repair the damage from being vacant for over 7 years.
