They’re selling all their CT Theatres. That sucks, I thought they were going to hold on to their CT theatres. I hope Rave is a good chain, I like that they push all Digital Projection format from what I heard, but in my area the Showcase Cinemas are the best run theaters, and have always gone to them. Even though I live close to AMC Loews Plainville 20 and Hoyts Simsbury, If I’m driving to the movie, I always drive the extra to Buckland Hills. I’m really going to miss them. I guess I’ll get the National Amusements experience when I’m still drunk after a New England Patriots game at Patriot Place.
if you’re into mainstream movies and stuff like me, the palace is the place to go weekdays or weekends.($5 on a saturday night for me thanks to my student ID) I’m sure RAW is good but they don’t show movies that would bring me there, so i can’t judge. Buckland is good and all cause they show movies past midnight on the weekends….but are way too expensive. I think it’s the best theatre cause of the sound. The sound here kicks the bejezzez out of Plainville and Buckland. I like my theatre shaking like an earthquake during explosions.

This place was a dump though, It did last alot longer than i thought it would. Not really gonna be missed, cept the empty auditoriums felt like a private screening room on certain evenings. I remember this one time a couple weeks ago i went here for a show and there were a couple more people my age (college students) who decided to partake in smoking (not a cigarette mind you). There were no theater checks or anything. Did i snitch, hell no. I sat with them. Tou can get away with murder here.
The odyssey screen theater is still used, only for “enhanced 35mm” movies. Best theater in CT hands down. Way better than Loews in Plainvlle. This theater has the sound and even the small auditoriums are great.

Went to the last show tonight. The final show was the 1015 showing of Beerfest

They’re prob the only place I know in CT that shows Anime. Saw the Cowboy Bebop movie here, only place in the state that got it I think.
So i can get drunk @ the movies with no problem…..SWEET.
It’s due to close in the next couple of weeks
