The North Shore (also designed by Klein) was also divided into a two-screener and became a dollar theatre. Been searching everywhere for a photo of the old North Shore. The designs of all the theatres are VERY similar.
Grew up in North Shore and have so many memories of this theatre. It was a large one screen with a rising and opening curtain, designed by Irving Klein and Assoc. (Houston). The same year North Shore opened, 1966. the Parkview Theatre opened as well. The theatres were identical in design. (Even signage). I cannot find ANY photos of the old North Shore theatre, only the Parkview. If ANYONE has access to a photo, PLEASE post it. Even when it was divided into two screens and became a dollar theatre, I loved it. As you can see…it’s a KINKO’S now.
