The Fitchburg Theater, specifically this one, actually has/had two screens. I toured it in 2014 and only came out with one worthy photograph (which I uploaded). The lobby is a junk storage area, the first screen has been torn down and the second screen is still up with all its graffiti in tact. Another building that hasn’t been cared for and is overrun with mold. It could still be saved, and I hope someone does.
In 2014 I toured this theater. It sits in disrepair, sadly the building is not cared for at all and smells of mold. It looked like the entire building was abandoned.
Most of the building is unused shuttered shops. In the back you can still even get a glimpse at the theater. This theater is slowly falling apart. Used by the Jamaican store out front as storage, mostly for bottle returns/redemption. The stage is subject to a leaky roof as is the unused areas in the back such as the bathrooms and projector room. Except for the slanted cement floor, the rest of this theater is unsafe, and a shame.
The Leonard Block is now an empty lot.

Now a parking lot.
