Mayland now open as ‘the Boneyard’, a rib restaurant. 2nd floor is the restaurant. First floor is all games. In the rear of the first floor is a bar 21 and over only. There is a stage in the front where the screen was for live performances.
2nd floor overlooks the stage on the first floor. Plasma TV’s all over the walls.
Nice to see it being used.
Just was in town at the Zoo for dinner with the family. Last time I was at the Mayland it was still a working theater in the 80’s. I managed GCC Southgate for a year in 1988 ( came to Cleveland from Erie GCC).
Sad to see it go but at least the building is in use.
Millcreek Cimema 3 was build by General Cinema (GCC) when the Millcreek Mall was built in 1975. In the mid 1980’s, the mall was expanding and GCC decided to build a free standing 6-plex in the rear of the mall and called it the Millcreek 6. It had a whole new GCC look with the new Oak trim panels and new concession stands. The Millcreek 3 remained with the older red carpet and white formica concession stand.
This made 9 screens in the mall. Actually, the Millcreek 6 was supposed to be the Millcreek 8 but at the last minute the screens were cut to 6 and there is now a parking lot in the rear where two theaters we cut out.
The Millcreek 3 remained for some time. It was the home of the Rocky Horror Picture Show and other midnight movies for a few years. GCC finally closed it I believe in the early 90’s and kept the 6-plex in the rear.
Millcreek 3 was gutted by the mall and it is now a record/cd store.
Millcreek 6 was purchased from GCC by Cinemark in the early 90’s? and then Cinemark built a Tinseltown 17 further up the road in the new developments.
Millcreek 6 remains as a 2nd run movie house. Cinemark does not keep it maintained well, as it is showing signs of neglect.
Tinseltown just got a new remodel and stadium seating.
The NOW manager of Tinseltown 17 actually started at the Millcreek 3 as my assistant in the 80’s!
I’d love to hear from anyone with pictures or stories. I have fond memories of my days as a movie theater manager.
Well the area where Cinema III was is now a FYE video store and the rest of the area is the new food court. Very nice actually. Progress…

I went to Boston once for a weekend..it was at some country club. No expedition. We toured Framingham and went to a ballgame at Fenway.
Bob Klaas was the DM for Cleveland. I’d love to know if he has any shots of the Erie PA theaters i started at.

Looking for some photos. I managed Erie and Southgate in the mid to late 80’s.
I opened Millcreek 6 and did a wonderful photo album…I always wondered where it went.
