I was the relief projectionist on Tuesday nights. Because I still hadn’t gotten my Union card and had to take whatever jobs the union gave I had to work there. The problem was they ran all the black exploitation films such as Super Fly, The Mack, etc. these films portrayed the white man as some evil white villain who raped all the young black women, hooked the kids on drugs, etc. I was probably the only white guy in that theatre. So, I had to wait for the audience to leave and a black security guard would walk me to the back of the theater where my car was parked and I’d sped of to my home in Berkley
