I was visiting family here in the summer of'75. Jaws was sold out. I was so disappointed, wasn’t old enough to see Rollerball, so I had to settle for The Apple Dumplin Gang.
While I was stationed at Fort Hunter Liggett during the mid eighties,I watched quite a few movies here including Beverly Hills Cop,Ferris Buellers Day off,and a fantastic double feature of Teachers and Body Double. It was a beautiful theater with a gorgeous lobby. I see it pop up in films now and then.
This was a great drive in.on a cold December night in 1977,they showed The Sting,Slap Shot and Two Minute Warning. Can’t beat that.Went there many times, great drive in.

When I was growing up in Louisville in the seventies, this was THE theater to see a movie in. It was so nice. All of the big films played here. Christmas ‘71 for example had diamonds are forever, straw dogs, dirty harry and dollars. They had artwork on the walls, and huge corridors. Beautiful theater.
White Oaks Cinema was my first job, September ‘80 -January’81, great place to work, Richard Hobe was the manager. Great times.
