a lovely theatre.
i recall seeing august wilson’s ‘fences’, the pre-broadway musical ‘urban cowboy’, ‘oh! calcutta!, barbara cook in concert, raul esparza perhaps as a pre-teen in a comedic play whose name i don’t recall, a musical called 'matador’, the thriller ‘corpse!’…
Past the lobby and prior to the main theatre there is ‘The Encore Room’; a performance space similar to an an off-bway n.y. theatre.
Many off-bway titles play here including Steven Fales in ‘X’d: Confessions of a Mormon Boy.'
Very well-known names have been involved in productions here for several decades.

I’m not selling this video. It was mentioned in a ‘releases’ e~mail to me from ‘Nostalgia Family Video, Inc.’(formerly ‘Hollywood’s Attic’) as you may see atop.
I included their fax, toll free and email contacts for inquiries. ‘A look a the big movie palaces of yesteryear.’ – is the only comment on it at their w'site.
One afternoon I went to ‘Hawaii Kai’ and sat at the bar with a concoction intended for two (but I made it for one, if memory serves it was called ‘The Volcano’.) At approximately 2:15pm I remembered I had a matinee ticket for ‘Miss Margarida’s Way’ with Estelle Parsons.
It was not easy missing the feet of those I had to scramble through to get to my seat.
Alright.
If these were the theatres on the same side as ‘Woodbridge Center’( not there I understand), then I saw Bertolucci’s ‘Luna’, ‘Looking For Mr. Goodbar’ ‘Lisztomania’, ‘Fingers’ (which has been redone and is exhibiting now with a title that includes another organ of the body) and others here.
This happened to me during the engagement of ‘Doña Flor And Her Two Husbands’ here.
A friend and I were seated in the balcony’s front row watching the film and I was smoking a cigarette I dropped onto the orchestra.
We went downstairs immediately and encountered an irate couple in the lobby.
I apologized over and over and offered to pay for salon services.
They wanted to call the police. They observed our sincere concern
and all returned to their seats.
I saw a Japanese film here about three sisters in Kyoto. It certainly looked beautiful but I don’t recall the name.
Do recall ‘The Whales Of August’ with ‘The Lonely Passion Of Judith Hearne’ on a double bill here in the very late ‘80s or early '90s.
Have seen Barbara Cook In Concert here and for many years The Miami International Film Festival. This was until one year unclaimed seats were sold at the last minute and instead of waiting for the patrons to enter and make their way to seating, the lights went out, the program started and the aisles were filled with the lastest arrivals who sat there throughout the film.
I’ve never revisited.
