Photograph taken in March 1969 of the Forum now named ABC still looking impressive even after 35 years, there have been minor changes to the facade, the illuminated film display recesses either side have been cemented over, above the canopy is a replacement 1960’s illuminated back lit display film information board. Below left is the usual “Sweet Spot” confectionery shop whilst the shop right is jewellery, next door was the original entrance staircase to the large restaurant area situated above the foyer now closed, a large vertical illuminated sign ‘Restaurant’ lettering has been removed. A few years later in 1972 Odeon too finally closed their last restaurants.
