A recent news clip from local news station WHAS 11 shows the theater as closed, with many of the “great escape” letters missing from the marquee.

Does anyone know if this drive-in had the same style marquee as the Skyline drive-in, or did the Skyline folks buy this sign and refurbish it for their theater?
The neon lettering reading “CINEMA” that was on top of this theater are now on the back of the main screen of the Georgetown drive-in, just across the river in Indiana. So glad to know the signage went to a good home!
This year will be the 70th season for the Georgetown! The back of the main screen now features the neon lettering reading “CINEMA” that stood on top of the now demolished bardstown road showcase cinemas in Louisville. I’ll get a picture the next time I go!

It’s a shame this marquee is gone, it’s really cool!

That marquee is beautiful!
I saw Homeward Bound II here when I was a kid, around the time this theater closed.

I wonder what was going on with the back rows, unless this photo was taken during the theater’s demolition.
