Thanks again for the work you do! I’ll be looking forward to sharing this with my family. I go to the Historic Park Theatre here in Estes Park, CO several times a year for various movies and events. Just enjoyed 3 different movies this past weekend during their Silent Film Festival complete with wonderful live piano accompaniment. Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Charlie Chase romping 1915 to 1927.
I have been to several special events recently including Broncos games, The Living Dream, and the Silent Film Festival with Scott Wilseck and always have good fun. The films included were Charlie Chaplins last in that series in 1917, The Adventurer and Buster Keaton’s first independant film, One Week, from 1920. Pretty cool venue. Scott matched the timing of the movies very well and entertained in between. Thanks!
The street running beside the theatre is of course The Circle where my family, including my great-grandfather Leroy Edwards, and Leonard his son, my mom Claire Edwards Davies and various other relatives all lived. My mom is 84 and I, Bruce Davies live in Estes Park, Colorado now. We visited the theatre last year, 2014, and just wanted to look around. Reasonably, we were told we could not come in without a ticket….
This was my grandfathers theatre, Leonard. He lived just around the corner on The Circle. It may be that the original retail store may have been a bicycle shop run by my great grandfather Leroy.
I’ll either take some and post or have the owner Jenna do so.
