Palace Cinema Interior, 1947.
This interior photo, of the rear stalls, is the only one I can find of the premises. The five gentlemen shown are quite obviously from two distinct social classes, and one can only guess the purpose of the occasion. The poor construction of the building is clearly shown. It was merely a large wooden shed, with no attempt being made to disguise the exposed boarding. Windows ran along both sides of the auditorium; covered, during shows, by blackout curtaining.
