Silicon Sam – that’s it. The church’s main entrance is on the north side of the building, on Russell.

Just down Russell Street is the Wonder Ballroom, a former fraternal organization lodge turned music hall dating to 1914.

Yuki Japanese Restaurant is on the corner of 14th and NE Broadway, and the middle of the building is Milo’s City Cafe, an excellent place for brunch.

In previous incarnations, the building was Famous Bobs Pizza and Jamie’s (a faux-50s diner). The projection hole was visible from the dining room.

The building still exists and is the New Song Community Church.

The Google Maps picture for the address (SW Corner of MLK Blvd. and Russell) shows the original theater entrance with extensive renovation, but the building is still there.

The building was demolished sometime after June 2003, and is currently a vacant lot owned by the Portland Development Commission.

The development is the Vanport Square building just to the north – a local film buff shows some of his collection of ephemera in the Old Town Pizza on Monday nights.
